Tonight has ended in a very disappointing manner. We had reached the end of our block on our way to the park to watch fireworks when our neighbors at the end house said the fireworks had been moved to tomorrow night because the storm the previous night had damaged some of the equipment. She said it had been on the radio all day, too. Guess we weren't keeping up with outside events! So then we decided we would try to go to a nearby fireworks show in a different town. We decided to head to Crofton, NE, which is only 10 miles or so away. Well, Cole was screaming. And we knew the fireworks wouldn't start until after the ball game in that town, and we happened to have the radio on the station that was broadcasting the game and it was just in the seventh inning. So we headed back home.

Accalia was, of course, very disappointed to not see fireworks tonight. We told her we could stay at home tomorrow and see them, but we had been planning to drive to Mitchell to see "Finding Nemo" at the drive-in there. She immediately chose the movie.

Guess we'll have to wait until later in the summer to see fireworks during the annual Riverboat Days celebration in August.
